Assistant Director of Research (#76466)
The person qualified for this position will have extensive research experience and be motivated to lead a team asking research questions using qualitative methods. Preference will be given to candidates with experience researching English language learners (ELLs) and managing research projects. Duties will include supervising graduate students, qualitative associate researchers, and research administrators, authoring reports, submitting findings to peer reviewed publications, presenting at professional conferences, and supporting the director of Research, for example in the development of strategic plans, budgets, policies, and procedures. Operations Coordinator (#76421)
The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for managing the fiscal, strategic planning, and contractual activities of the project. The Operations Coordinator will fulfill administrative duties with a depth of experience in planning, executing, and problem solving. Successful candidates with have project management experience and ideally, experience managing large and complex revenue generating projects, particularly with state agencies and school districts. Professional Development Specialists (#76384)
WIDA is recruiting 4-6 new professional development staff to deliver trainings (primarily on the WIDA ELD Standards, ACCESS for ELLs, the W-APT, and Interpreting Score Reports). Applicants are NOT required to relocate to Madison, WI and appointment percentages of 50-100% will be considered. These positions will also require extensive travel (approximately 60%). Ideal candidates will have K-12 teaching experience in ESL/Bilingual environments, experience delivering professional development to educators, and knowledge of WIDA's products and resources. Those with knowledge of or experience with instructional coaching, early childhood, students with disabilities, Native Americans, and bilingual (Spanish) speakers are strongly encouraged to apply. Professional Development Researchers (#76248)
These positions involve the research, development and delivery of evidence-based professional development programs and services including technical resources, training programs, materials, and courses for educators in the field. The research will focus on the identification and dissemination of effective practices in second language acquisition, adult education, and curriculum and instruction for educators of English language learners in the U.S. and international K-12 systems.
