Carsten Wilmes, Ph.D.
Assistant Director of Assessment
Carsten Wilmes oversees the development and operational implementation of WIDA's assessments, working closely with the Center for Applied Linguistics. Carsten also serves on the WIDA Research Subcommittee. He is a faculty lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and teaches a course in Educational Psychology. Carsten holds a Ph.D. in foreign language testing and second language acquisition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include alignment, validity theory, item response theory, and washback on test-takers.
