English Language Proficiency Standards
ELP Standards trainings are usually given as a one day training session, but can be expanded or customized according to your needs. WIDA requires a group of 25 participants, and the maximum would be an audience of 100. If you require training for more individuals, we ask that you plan two consecutive days of training to accommodate all of them. This offering is directed toward general education and ESL/bilingual teachers. It is often most effective when teams of teachers from the same school can attend together.
Objectives:
- Understand the basis for and structure of the WIDA ELP Standard
- Learn how the model performance indicators are designed and translated into ACCESS for ELLs® test items
Working with ELLs
Working with ELLs trainings are usually given as a one day training session, but can be expanded or customized according to your needs. WIDA prefers a group of at least 25 participants, and the maximum would be an audience of 100. If you require training for more individuals, we ask that you plan two consecutive days of training to accommodate all of them. This offering is directed toward general education teachers and school/district administrators. It is often most effective when teams of teachers and administrators from the same school can attend together.

Collaborating to Meet the Academic Needs of ELLs
Collaboration trainings are usually given as two to four day trainings for audiences of instructional teams composed of at least one general education teacher and one ESL and/or bilingual teacher. WIDA prefers an audience of at least 25 participants, and the maximum would be an audience of 75.
Objectives:
- Understand the process of language acquisition
- Discuss myths and misconceptions about ELLs
- Learn how to differentiate instruction for ELLs
- Understand how to integrate the WIDA ELP Standards and content standards into classroom instruction
- Modeling, ideas, and practice on collaboration, co-planning, and co-teaching
CLIMBS™
Course Objectives:
- Understand how to integrate the WIDA ELP Standards and content standards into classroom instruction and assessment
- Learn how to shelter academic content and build language proficiency for ELLs
- Understand the use of data from a variety of assessments to inform instruction
- Build collaborative relationships
