LMS Solutions Analyst

Education: Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science with background in eLearning, Instructional Design, or related field.

Knowledge and Skills:

Required

  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of related learning technologies including working experience with a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of instructional design processes and tools.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of how technology can enable impactful and effortless learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Strong customer relation skills and excellent interpersonal skills with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Ability to decompose complex process into manageable components, devise multiple approaches and deliverables, and translate into actionable work plans and solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with web-based content and collaboration tools.

Preferred

  • Practical experience implementing and managing Canvas Learning Management System and/or Moodle.
  • Experience transferring learning objects from one LMS to another.
  • Understanding of learning technology standards such as LTI, Scorm specification, Tin Can API.
  • Demonstrated understanding of learning technology concepts and solutions such as LOR's.
  • Previous participation in IMS Global learning standards development.
  • Experience working with and course authoring solutions such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Elucidat, H5P, Camtasia.

WIDA Summer Research Internship in Language Assessment 2018

WIDA offers summer research internships in language assessment to graduate students. Interns will participate in WIDA Assessment research projects and collaborate with WIDA researchers on projects that address academic language development in the K-12 context.

The WIDA Assessment Team pursues a validation research agenda that supports the WIDA suite of language assessments, ACCESS for ELLs 2.0, WIDA Screener, and WIDA MODEL. Interns may contribute to various aspects of this research agenda, such as study design, data collection and analyses, manuscript/report authoring and review, and presentation of findings. Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods projects may be assigned to interns, depending on the background of qualified applicants. Interested applicants may also participate in test development activities, such as content reviews. Specific projects will be assigned to each intern, based on individual interests and strengths at the beginning of the internship.

  • Internship Dates: June 4 - August 10, 2018 (Dates are somewhat flexible)

Compensation: Paid internship with a competitive hourly salary (interns typically work 30 hours per week)

Eligibility:

  • Full-time enrollment in a doctoral program related to language assessment
  • Completion of a minimum of two years of coursework toward a doctoral degree, prior to beginning the internship
