For 2016-17, Illinois school districts again have the option of using either the online or paper format for ACCESS testing with these exceptions.

  • Kindergarten is paper only
  • Alternate ACCESS is paper only
  • Writing at grades 1-3 is paper only.
For all other ACCESS testing, the default format is online, but paper materials are available. Paper materials are ordered through www.wida-ams.us.

Testing sites and user accounts created on WIDA-AMS, for 2015-16 will carry over to 2016-2017. Those who are District Coordinators on WIDA-AMS can create new user accounts for others in their district and schools. They may also assign/re-assign permissions for user accounts, or make them inactive. To add a district or school to WIDA-AMS, contact Barry Pedersen, 866-317-6034, or bpederse@isbe.net.

Illinois will not adopt the WIDA Screener for 2016-2017. Illinois will continue using the W-APT for grades 1-12 and MODEL for K-12.

ACCESS 2.0 Data Corrections
Illinois will use the state Student information System for corrections to the 2016-17 ACCESS results, as in the past.
