  1. Will Maine be administering online or paper ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 in 2016-2017?
Except for Kindergarten, which will continue as a paper-based kit, ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 will be an online assessment in Maine. If there is a reason a district will need to consider the paper version (i.e. district lacks the necessary technology infrastructure for a successful administration), the Maine Department of Education (Maine DOE) must grant permission. Contact nancy.mullins@maine.gov For individual students go to: Individual Student Paper Test Request ACCESS 2.0 The Maine DOE will assume any school not submitting a written request will be delivering the assessment online.

  2. Will 4th and 5th grade ELLs on the Writing test respond by handwriting or keyboarding?

Maine's 4th and 5th grade students will keyboard their Writing responses.
