How do I gain access to view and/or download W-APT screener materials?

Your W-APT username and password are required (this is your personal ACCESS training login). If you don't have access to W-APT, please contact your district facilitator.

How do I set up my account for the ACCESS for ELLs Test Administrator Training Course?

In the past, the Office of Federal Programs has created WIDA Test Administrator accounts for district educators. Moving forward, ELL District-Level Coordinators will now have access to create WIDA Test Administrator user accounts for educators in their district.

If an ELL District-Level Coordinator does not already have access to the User Account Management Tool and the ACCESS for ELLs Account Creator in their account portal, they should contact the WIDA Client Services Center at 1-866-276-7735 or help@wida.us to gain access.

Am I required to take the test administrator training quizzes to become approved to administer the ACCESS test?

Yes. Log In to take the test administrator training quizzes. You must receive a passing score of 80% on all applicable quizzes.

Do I need to retake the training quizzes if I passed them in a previous year?

No, but review of the training course is strongly recommended, particularly the speaking portion.

Do I need to show proof of my passing quiz grades (80%) from previous years?

    No.

  • State Specific Guidance for ACCESS for ELLs 2.0

    1. Will Oklahoma be administering online or paper ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 in 2015-2016?
Beginning February 8, 2016, Oklahoma's English Language Learners (ELLs) will be administered ACCESS for ELLs 2.0, which replaces ACCESS for ELLs. The Oklahoma State Department of Education strongly encourages Grades 1-12 ELLs be administered the online version, as it allows for increased ease for test administrators. With the online version, test administrators no longer score the Speaking test and can group administer Speaking, as well as Reading, Writing and Listening to multiple students across grade levels. Kindergarten ACCESS for ELLs continues to be a paper-based kit. Local Education Agencies (LEAs) will determine if the Grades 1-12 assessment will be administered as an online or paper-based assessment.

The Kindergarten ACCESS, Alternate ACCESS and the Writing domain of the ACCESS for ELLs Test for Grades 1-3 continue to be a paper-based assessment.

    2. What type of training is available for ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 for the three roles of those participating in delivery–Test Administrators, Test Coordinators, and Technology Coordinators?
All training materials will be available virtually through web-based modules and online resources. Training information for the three ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 roles (Test Coordinator, Test Administrator, and Technology Coordinator) is available on the ACCESS 2.0 Preparation Resources webpage. Users may select their role (or all roles) to see currently available and upcoming resources.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education will conduct a webinar on 01/12/16 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. regarding ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 Test Training. To register for the webinar please go to: https://oksdetraining.webex.com.
